Description:
MBAC498, Action Learning, is a 2nd-year MBA course designed
to encourage the integration across functions of analytical tools, knowledge
and perspective gained during the first year in the core curriculum, together
with the summer internship experience, as students work on action learning
assignments for a corporate, health care or nonprofit organization.
These organizations act as volunteer corporate partners who sponsor the
program and create an experiential space that tests the school's curriculum
and students' abilities to work through a real-life project with loosely-defined
problems and set dead-lines. Students are challenged to put‘theories
in practice’ – while remaining under the guidance of Weatherhead
faculty "coaches".
The Action Learning site acts as a "collaborative" contact
point shared by students, corporate sponsors and faculty coaches.
