Description:
As a part of Case Western Reserve University, the Weatherhead School of Management strives to be a center for research excellence. Toward this goal the faculty and PhD students of WSOM often gather primary research data. Increasingly this data collection is being done online. This web site is a central access point for web-based data collection for the academic community at WSOM. All faculty and Phd students are welcome to post research projects to the site and use the research panel for any academic research project that has been approved by the university's Internal Review Board. The web site can be used to post projects that are completed directly online or to schedule an appointment for an offline project.

Selected Features of this Site:

The Research Panel: The Weatherhead Research Panel is a database of people who would like to be informed about online or offline research opportunities. Panel members will periodically (generally once a month or less) receive an email inviting them to participate in currently available research projects. Joining is fast, easy and free and involves no obligation to participate in future projects.

Offline Scheduling: Off-line research projects involve coming to a central location (chosen for the convenience of the respondents) at a prearranged time. There are often a number of time slots available so the respondent can sign up for one that is convenient for him/her. Studies may involve pencil and paper tasks, interviews, or computer assisted games.

Off-line research environments give researchers the opportunity to use visual aids and interactive tasks that cannot be effectively delivered online. Given the generally higher level of inconvenience of these tasks, respondents are usually compensated.
