Description:
The Executive Doctor of Management program integrates concept and practice
within the context of today’s emerging and pressing global issues.
The original Dorney grant proposed The Applied Research Connection: a
high quality electronic journal for publishing applied management research
by practitioner-scholars.
In the first phase, the EDM practitioner-scholar web site was planned
to meet the distance-independent needs of EDM students. With only a few
face-to-face meetings each semester, the EDM students work remotely off-campus
on projects in this , non-residency program. The web site needed to include:
- a practitioner-scholar workshop area where students could store and
work on papers.
- a practitioner-scholar forum for students to share cooperative synchronous/asynchronous
discussion.
- a practitioner-scholar Management Review online journal where students,
scholars, and interested readers could exchange dynamic articles, comment
and feedback.
Phase I, the EDM web site has been created. At present, Phase 2, the
development and expansion plan that addresses the themes explored by the
student across the three-year EDM program, is in the preliminary planning
stage.
